A few months ago Bob had intended for us to go out for a meal with some Peking duck in celebration ah…I dunno his First, his graduation, his new job…*shrugs* In the end the whole thing got stupidly delayed because we couldn’t seem to find a free weekend to do it in.

Eventually an opportunity arose when we realised that if we didn’t do it before Alice went travelling then hell it would be a another long wait until we could do it. So it was planned to be held around Easter Monday.

Muse at the Cinema

I thought people were joking on twitter when there was talk of seeing Muse at the cinema. I mean what sort of a crazy idea is that?…

Of course an idea crazy enough to actually work…

You see months and months ago we had all found ourselves at Wembley Stadium, not once, oh no, but twice to watch Muse play in all their glory in the biggest venue to date. And now…we were planning to watch it all again, in high def (ultra realism) surround sound action at the cinema..(then afterwards..because we’re all sad like that…we’re probably going to fork out to buy the dvd after too. Ha.)

So originally Stu was twittering asking me down to the London showing but I didn’t know if I was working and going to London at such a short notice just for a day with no where to stay was just not doable for me. Then Gem pipped up and it so turns out there’s a Leeds showing too. This was more doable for me because there was a better likelihood of somewhere to stay annddd it was easier to get to etc. So after checking I wasn’t working on Tuesday I decided I was so there.

So the other weekend I went to see the Mexicolas. Well a lot of other stuff happened before that point though. I mean my bad karma was still going on since I killed that pigeon…

The Manic Street Preachers Weekend - Part One

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

Over the past year I’d strangely been to quite a few Manics gigs, I mean moreso than I could usually make the effort for. The latest one on the cards was the gig in Birmingham, a gig I especially got tickets for because of the “home turf”-ness so to speak.

Originally the attendants had been me, Kev and Paul though over time and on and off people have joined and people have dropped out. In the end us three are also joined by JDB Ste (amusingly nicknamed because there was this whole thing where people said he looked like JDB) and one Spazzie Kazzie, who had never seen the Manics play live before.
